My name is Cassandra and I'm going to take you through this practice which is designed
to help relieve tension, aches and pains, specifically in your hips as well as in your
lower back.
This is perfectly suitable for beginners but truly it's an all levels practice.
I think anyone who's experiencing tightness, stiffness, tension in this area will greatly
benefit from it.
No props are required and we'll start sitting.
I'm going to turn to make it easier for you to see what I'm doing.
But start sitting with your right shin slightly staggered in front of your left one.
You want to equally ground both bones into the floor.
Lift and lengthen through your spine and we're going to start walking our hands out in front
of us.
You might stay up a little bit higher, you might come down onto your forearms or if it
works for you, you can fold all the way down.
We're looking to find that first stretch down into our right hip and right glute.
The forward fold also gives us the opportunity to start stretching the frontal back.
Take about five deep breaths here in and out through your nose.
No matter how far you go into this pose, try to relax your shoulders, relax your chest.
Imagine you can breathe directly into the spot where you feel this the most.
