Greetings and welcome to Naked in the Kitchen. I am your host Ginger Pertar, the hairiest
woman on earth, not to brag. And today we are going to make some hummingbird food, some
hummingbird nectar to feed our fine feathered friends in these warmer months. So to start
out, it's actually pretty simple. It's just, it's just one part sugar and four parts water.
That's it. But you want to make sure it's hot so it dissolves. So I just boiled this
a second ago, but let's just boil it again just to get that going. And yeah, I'm gonna
I'm gonna make it in here. I'm gonna fill this with hot water. And then we're going
to do a quarter of a cup of just plain white sugar. That's important. Just plain white
sugar. Don't use brown sugar. And don't use honey. You might think that honey would be
good because it's also from flowers, but it actually hurts the little hummingbirds throats.
So we don't want to do that. And then also don't get sugar in the raw. You would think
that that would be good, but nope, not that either. Just plain white sugar is all you
need. So there's a quarter of a cup. And then here is one cup of hot water. Yeah, there
we go. And you want it to boil so it dissolves properly. I think it's a good thing to do.
I've read that you don't necessarily have to like, if you stirred enough, it'll dissolve.
